Matthies Hall, at the historic Oliver Ellsworth Homestead in Windsor Connecticut, can be the site of your upcoming event.

The Hall is situated on the grounds of the Homestead, in a lovely rural setting with mature trees and large lawns. The Hall itself is set back from the road, with a feeling of privacy and openness. The dominant feature of the property is the historic, colonial Oliver Ellsworth House museum. The traditional-style Matthies Hall nestles at the back of the property, backing up to woods.

Availability: Available from late April to early November.

Guest count: The Hall can accommodate events up to 100 guests. Larger events are possible, based on specific event plans.

Features: The Hall is over 3000 square feet, and has a charming, rustic interior, a catering kitchen, stage, piano, PA system, and hardwood floors. On-site banquet tables and folding chairs are included in the rental price.

Our day-of-event coordinator, whose services are included in the rental fee, will help you manage your big day, to make it flow smoothly. She can also provide guidance with vendors and event design, if desired.

Access: There is easy access to major highways, and for out-of-town guests, numerous hotels and Bradley International Airport are within a ten minute drive.

The Hall is appropriate for a variety of events, from weddings, parties, and music recitals, to meetings for groups and businesses. The building is handicapped accessible, and laid out on one floor for easy mobility for guests. There is also a handicapped accessible bathroom.

The Details: We make it easy to rent Matthies Hall for the amount of time you need for your specific event. Whether your event will be several hours, or you need a full weekend, we can accommodate your design with flexible pricing. Additionally, we don’t require use of an in-house banquet service or specific vendors – you select your caterer and vendors, and we work with them to ensure that your event dovetails neatly into Matthies. We don’t schedule multiple weddings on one day, so your wedding is private and personal for you and your guests.

The Oliver Ellsworth Homestead is owned by the CT Daughters of the American Revolution and managed by the Ellsworth Memorial Association. Rentals of Matthies Hall provide funding to these two non-profit organizations.
